The Grade 5’s Successful Science Fair At Bezanson School
Have you ever been in a science fair? Grade five students hosted one last week! The grade fives built an electricity project and then presented it to their cohort.
On Friday, February 5, grade 5 students hosted a Science fair on electricity. Each student built a project based on electricity and then presented it to their cohort. Due to Covid- 19 we had to follow some rules such as: wearing masks while presenting to our cohort, parents weren't allowed to come, and only our cohort was allowed to come to see the projects.
It is the first time the grade five teacher filmed the projects. We had visitors such as: Mr. Stevens the electrician, Mr. J the grade 7 teacher, Mrs. Matlock the Librarian, Ms. Linfield the principal, Mrs. Ewert the secretary, and Mrs. Wasylchew the E.A. They came around and asked the grade 5s questions.
“I built an Alien Blinding Machine,” said Zaya E, a grade 5 student that participated in the science fair. “I used a drill battery that takes 12 volts, I connected the alligator clips to the battery and the light and I also connected the alligator clips to the other side of the battery and completed the circuit. Mr. Stevens said that it looked good and that I must have worked really hard on it.” When Zaya was asked what her challenges were, she said, “I had troubles figuring out the wiring and where everything was going to go.”
Congrats to the grade 5 class for hosting a successful science fair!!! They felt proud and nervous. “It was ok,” said Bellanna S, a grade 5 participant. For more information go to: sites.google.com/pwsd.ca/bezanson-school-grade-5/home or call 780-532-6490 or email [email protected]
